Untitled Review
I bought the tent to do a climb on Mt. Rainier. Although it hasn't been tested in severe weather yet, it worked great there. Two of us slept in the tent with plenty of room for our boots and gear. The tent was easy to put up and to take down and repack. The zippers worked well and I have no complaints with it's performance. I do wish that it weighed less but I would definitely buy it again.

I bought the Trango 2 this Fall at mgear.com for around $230--an absolute bargain for a winter tent, especially considering the retail prices of some other manufacturers. Thus far this winter, I've used it about 10 nights on 3 different trips, among them *cold* nights on Rainier and in B.C. My first winter tent, I can't compare to others, but suffice to say I am very happy with this purchase. T2's reputation as a "bombproof" winter shelter seems justified enough to me. The poles are heavily reinforced, and the fly made very taught very easily by means of tension straps (and is secured not only by grommets at the ends of the poles, but along them as well).
With outside clips and poles that follow the seams, it goes up easily enough with gloved hands.
Like most winter tents, it's got oodles of pockets. MHW has a new version out (what changes they made I know not), but for the price I am perfectly happy with the original.

Definitely bomb proof. They take this one to the South Col on Everest at 26,000'. I can't imagine a harsher environmen than that. I have used this as an all season tent and two years later, it is holding up just fine. It is plenty roomy and I agree that you could get 3 close friends in it if you had too. The down side is that it is heavy. Guess that is the price you pay if you are hit by a heavy winter storm and 70 mph winds and want to be sure that you still have a roof over your head.

The one and only
This tent is awesome.
Use it for years, its such a solid and stormproof 4 season tent.
Its not the lightest one but the layout is really perfect.

Untitled ReviewThe tent is not super light but that's the price you pay for something this solid. Very easy to setup even in bad weather.
