This 4-season tent features a 4-pole design with 7 pole crossings for maximum strength in winds and snow

Durable ripstop nylon canopy is treated with mildew and UV inhibitors to increase the tent's life
Polyurethane-coated nylon taffeta fly has a clear, non-yellowing, non-clouding window to view outside conditions without letting the elements in
Nylon taffeta floor has a 3-pass polyurethane coating for abrasion resistance and waterproofing; off-ground seams form a tub to keep ground water out
Vestibule brow pole provides increased space and creates an awning over front entry; rear vestibule offers additional storage space for gear
Two full-size D-shaped double doors give you a choice between mesh for venting or ripstop for privacy or four season use
Tension shelves provide increased strength, support for vestibule and 3-D storage shelf
Mesh perimeter pockets extend along entire sidewall of interior to keep small essentials off of the floor
Factory-taped fly and floor seam ensure waterproofing
Tension Shelf(TM) adds material that tensions the tent pole to give additional support to canopy and vestibule, increases load-bearing capacity, plus creates a bonus inside storage shelf. Minimum weight includes tent, poles and rainfly. Includes stuff sack, pole sack, peg sack, 7075 T6 aluminum v-pegs, Seam Grip, internal guy system and owner's manual.. Imported.

Two words to describe this tent........BOMB SHELTER. This is my primary winter tent and so far has lived up to my expectations. The tent really stands up to strong winds where others have not. I usually only sleep two people but have allowed three for close friends. Plenty of head room with more than enough storage pockets. The tent also works well in warmer climates as the zip flap in the top of the tent provides adequate ventilation.

The tent is not super light but that's the price you pay for something this solid. Very easy to setup even in bad weather.

I bought the tent to do a climb on Mt. Rainier. Although it hasn't been tested in severe weather yet, it worked great there. Two of us slept in the tent with plenty of room for our boots and gear. The tent was easy to put up and to take down and repack. The zippers worked well and I have no complaints with it's performance. I do wish that it weighed less but I would definitely buy it again.

I bought the Trango 2 this Fall at mgear.com for around $230--an absolute bargain for a winter tent, especially considering the retail prices of some other manufacturers. Thus far this winter, I've used it about 10 nights on 3 different trips, among them *cold* nights on Rainier and in B.C. My first winter tent, I can't compare to others, but suffice to say I am very happy with this purchase. T2's reputation as a "bombproof" winter shelter seems justified enough to me. The poles are heavily reinforced, and the fly made very taught very easily by means of tension straps (and is secured not only by grommets at the ends of the poles, but along them as well).

With outside clips and poles that follow the seams, it goes up easily enough with gloved hands.

Like most winter tents, it's got oodles of pockets. MHW has a new version out (what changes they made I know not), but for the price I am perfectly happy with the original.

Definitely bomb proof. They take this one to the South Col on Everest at 26,000'. I can't imagine a harsher environmen than that. I have used this as an all season tent and two years later, it is holding up just fine. It is plenty roomy and I agree that you could get 3 close friends in it if you had too. The down side is that it is heavy. Guess that is the price you pay if you are hit by a heavy winter storm and 70 mph winds and want to be sure that you still have a roof over your head.

The previous reviews say it all. This one takes anything that mother nature throws at it, and laughs.

Great value if you find it on sale.

This tent is awesome.
Use it for years, its such a solid and stormproof 4 season tent.
Its not the lightest one but the layout is really perfect.
