This is basically a bivy sack with a vestibule.
  • DAC FeatherliteĀ® aluminum poles are specially engineered to be strong, yet 10 - 15% lighter than standard premium aluminum poles
  • Continous pole sleeve design for easy setup
  • Factory-taped, no-sag, coated polyester ceiling and coated nylon floor offer solid weather protection; integral vestibule for gear stowage.
  • ArcEdgeā„¢ floor has specially-designed, watertight perimeter seams that stay up off the wet ground
  • Integrated, floorless vestibule provides ample gear storage
  • Roomy pentagonal-shaped foot area with mini pole
  • No-see-um ceiling mesh panel with roll-back mini-fly, two side vents and hooded vent at the foot allow airflow, limiting condensation
  • Noiseless, reflective zipper pulls

I bought this tent because it was light and cheap, and because I'm not a huge fan of bivy sacks. The tent works fine for a fair weather, one person tent.

Due to the non-breathable, single wall construction, there is a lot of condensation in the tent. If it is set up very tight, there may be enough circulation through it (there is with my sleeping bag), but if it is not staked out tight, there isn't any circulation between my knees and hips which means my bag gets soaked. I haven't had any problem when I make sure to set it up well although it would probably start sagging again if it rained during the night.

The small window over your head has a small flap that clips closed. I don't think this will keep you dry if there is any significant wind blowing while it is raining.

All in all, it's not bad for the price but if I keep using it, I will probably replace the top panel with something breathable to cut down on condensation. Either that, or I will lay out the money for a good bivy sack.

Great price. I have the Dart 2 - someone optimistically thought that two people would fit in it. I have shared the tent with another person - but it is small. The vestibule does give some additional room.

It is a very inexpensive and light hoop style tent. If you use it in the mountains make sure you are using a synthetic bag. A down sleeping bag will gradually get wet from the single wall condensation produced from this tents construction.

Bottom line: Light and inexpensive

A good bang for your buck. No frills and light weight.

First, I wouldn't buy this tent again.
I got the Dart for almost free, so it was a good deal, but i wouldn't want it for full price.
I have spent many nights in my dart, and most were comfortable, dry and pleasant. but the weather was also mostly dry and pleasant too. I got caught in an Oregon rain storm, and though the single wall repelled the rain, the floor soaked through. I don't know if this is a problem often encountered, but it sucked.
The Dart doesn't vent that well, but is very nice in the forrest in mild weather. The vestibule is really great.
1 man tents are kinda fun, but i prefer a bivy.

I have a Dart 1 and have used it occasionally in dry weather. It's small and I find I get a bit claustrophobic in it. It's hard to get in and out of and I would not trust it in really wet weather as it doesn't seem to breathe much. I do like its big vestibule, however.
