These ARE some great basic shoes. The crampons grip well on steep slopes as well as side hills. The buckles haven't been a problem, but the straps are a bit long and the rubber loops that pin down the excess don't seem to hold very well. I just cut and melted the straps and now they're great. If you do this however, remember to make cuts while the straps are loose so the strap doesn't pull through the buckle when you take them off.

Opinions
Have used these in deep powder and over some pretty rugged terrain. They excel on the flats but it is a struggle once things spice up. Overall great basic shoe though.

Never Again!
I hope never again to have to use these tubb snowshoes. They are certainly better than nothing, but much less quality than a MSR pair. The straps not only fall off many times unless pulled on very tight and the freeze over making you have to take off your gloves and melt the straps in the cold winds making my hands go numb and feeling a bit frustrated. The crampons on them are alright but not as good as msr. They work for hikers, but not recommended for climbers!

Untitled ReviewThey are a little pricey but do come with a lifetime warranty.
I have had problems trying to adjust the straps in the lower temperatures. The plastic quick snaps can also become stuffed with snow and make it hard to pick the snow out of the female end.
