Overview

On the ascent to Rostocker Egge, 2749m.On the route to Rostocker Egge.

Rostocker Egge, 2749m is a small mountain directly above the hut Essener – Rostocker, 2208m. We can say it is the house summit of this hut. We usually reach it when we are on few days trip in Venediger group and we come to the hut Essener Rostocker in the early afternoon. We visit it before then dinner. We can reach its summit over two routes. One route goes from the ut and then over the north side to the summit. The second possibility which is longer goes from the hut in the south direction and crosses the east slopes of Rostocker Egge and then over the south slope that is called Maurer Alm to the summit. This route is called Carl Bremmer Weg. Usually we ascend over one route and descend over the second route. For the whole circle we will need from 3 to 4 hours from the hut.

Rostocker Egge is located on the east ridge that comes from the mountain Malhalmspitz, 3373m. This mountain is to the north connected with Simonyspitze, 3488m. So Rostocker Egge is just in front of Simonyspitze.
