Product Description

Good things can come in small packages so don't let the compact size and ultra-lightweight of the TAnchor surprise you with its holding power and versatility! Manufactured from durable aircraft quality aluminum the diminutive TAnchor grabs and holds like a monster... The precise angle and design of spine drives the TAnchor deeper into snow, sand, scree, and soft soil. When used in snow the retaining holes help anchor freeze into position.

The finish of the TAnchor is 'natural' for more secure placement than similar products that are powder-coated or anodized as those coatings do not bind as well to snow.

Convenient 4 pack is available through most SMC Retail Dealers.
The use of 4mm perlon as anchor cord is suggested but not included.

Not for use as an anchor to a direct live load. (Intended use is as a tent anchor.)

Note that the TAnchor has been redesigned recently and so it no longer features the tab that was used with Ice Axe spikes.

Bomber anchor
I used TAnchors to anchor my tent on Denali in May 2008 and the anchors were bomber. They bonded quite well to the snow. It took a little effort to dig them out, but it's worth the trouble to prevent losing your tent in high winds.

Note that you have to purchase the cord separately.
