The REI Taku jacket is a versatile option for your backcountry pursuits. Waterproof, breathable stretch fabric provides the ultimate in comfort and the ultimate in protection.

Great for aerobic activities in cold conditions when you may encounter windy, wet weather; think alpine touring, climbing, snowshoeing and spring skiing

Seam-taped, breathable 3-layer REI Element® laminate blocks rain and winds to 60 mph; shoulders and hood are reinforced to resist abrasion and shed weather

4-way stretch fabrics and athletic fit let you move without restriction
Core body vents let you regulate body temperature and are positioned to remain clear of pack straps

Storm hood with side and rear adjustments cinches down for a close fit and unhindered peripheral vision

Wind guard backs main zipper; chin guard protects sensitive skin

All zippers are welded and water resistant

The Low Down

This jacket just rules. It is so much cheaper than comparable jackets from other brands that you have to pay for the logo on, but it still looks good. It is really waterproof and pretty good in the wind; its durability rocks. The hood is very comfortable even with a helmet.
