This soft shell is chock full of performance features you'll need and count on in the field.

Made from Polartec Power Shield® which blocks 98% of the wind and allows 2% to circulate within the fabric

This greatly increases the fabric's ability to move moisture vapor away from the body--two times faster than traditional waterproof, breathable shells

Abrasion- and water-resistant nylon outer face sheds rain and snow, keeping you dry in all but the heaviest of downpours

Soft polyester velour fleece inner face traps body heat for warmth

Four-way stretch allows maximum mobility and comfort

Integral helmet-compatible hood's drawcord adjustment allows full visibility

Full-length, two-way zipper with interior die-cut storm guard; chin guard protects against zipper abrasion

Side and underarm gusset construction moves seams to a more comfortable location

Features drop-tail hem and sleek, clean-finished contoured cuff construction

Two hand pockets with reverse-coil zippers; welded chest pocket with water-resistant zipper and a headphone exit portal

One-hand-adjustable drawcords at both side seams

I was looking for an Gamma SV style shell with a hood and found it at REI. I love this jacket as it is warmer than the Gamma MX from Arctryx but it does not fit as well for ice climbing. Range of motion is very good but the sleeves pull up a little bit more than the Gamma due to the fact that REI made to cuff a bit larger to accomodate pullling it over a glove.

Hood has been easy to use and fits over my Petzl helmet easy enough.

I would give it 5 stars if the fit was more athletic.
