Great Jacket but pricey!PRO:
-Easy to wear. wears lighter than it looks.
-Mammut's quality tailoring gives a great fit with articulated arms minus the extra fabric and gimmicks.
-Shoulder hypalon reinforcements are seamlessly integrated into the fabric and are very grippy/practical when shouldering packs or gear slings.
-Two way pocket zippers are a neat idea that I also found practical.
-Mammut uses two types of fabric. A stretchy lighter silky feel nylon blend in the torso area (for weight savings, flex and breath-ability) and a stiffer blend along the hood, sleeves, shoulders and waist (for durability reasons)
-Deep multi-adjustable hood fits over a helmet and the flared pleated cuffs will cinch over mitts/gloves.
-Hood is designed to stay put when not in use. In other words it does not flap around or get in the way when not being worn.
-Not one, not two but THREE interior pockets! you get one small zippered pocket inside the left chest area and two large mesh stow pockets on each side. These are so well integrated into the jacket you wouldn't know they were there until you looked. Also when the pockets are stuffed with stuff the tailoring is such that the jacket remains balanced on the body even if you have heavier items in one pocket.
CONS:
-Expensive or rather I should say Made In China but retails at $579 USD. That said this is the first MAMMUT jacket I ever bought that is made in China and I've been wearing the brand since 2001. It is also the single most expensive MAMMUT jacket I ever bought that was not part of the MAMMUT EXTREME line.
-For Americans used to the big broad tailored cut from brands like Arcteryx, North Face and Patagonia note that this jacket is cut slim. I'm 5'8" 155lbs and the medium barely fits me (see pictures) when wearing 3 layers under. It is actually the torso that is cut slim especially at the hips but the sleeves and shoulders are cut normal.
-For the Backcountry crowd (skiers and snowboarders) this jacket does not have a powder skirt or beacon pocket. Mammut does have a similarly style Alyeska jacket specifically made and specifically priced (very high) for the Backcountry crowd.
BOTTOM LINE: The Adreneline is a very durable jacket that is well designed and constructed by Mammut. However, I didn't think this jacket is worth the steep price tag. I got mine on sale for under $300 and if you can get one for a good price I highly recommend this jacket. Americans and Canadians that are used to the overly sized Patagonia/Arc'teryx/TNF jackets may definitely want to size up for this jacket.
