Overview

Fun two pitch climb. Second pitch climbs the narrow prow of the Racetrack. Awesome exposure.

Getting There

Hike up the south side of the Racetrack. belay near a large boulder. climbs up the ramp headed toward the interstate.

Route Description

1st pitch: Traverse pitch. Traverse across the ramp, climbing to the left. About 25 feet out climb up 5 feet to clip a bolt then back down to the ramp. Keep traversing left to the ledge beneath the small overhang. There are two bolts here. This pitch is neat because you maybe climb 90 feet, gain 25 vertical feet, but because of the way the ground drops off end up 130 feet off the deck.

2nd pitch. Climb up the nose, the crux coming right off the ledge. clip the bolt before you climb this. Up 20 more feet there is a large ledge. walk across and climb up 5 feet to a bolt. continue up 5.4 ground to the top. You can do this 60 foot pitch only clipping the two bolts because they come at the needed times. if you feel uncomfortable sling some bomber horns with a 24" sling

Belay off the bomber bolts on top. Rappel down Lucy In The Sky.

Essential Gear

Bring small cams, especially a #1 TCU and a .25 camalot. No passive pro needed. 24" slings are a must. There are many horns to be slung on both pitches. ATC's for the rappel.
