Sturdy design? Yeah, right!!

When I first bought them a friend of mine, who is an optician, commented: What do you know! Julbo decided to improve on their product quality. That got me thinking: what was their product quality before?

Anyway, for a month or so they where great. The photochromic lenses really worked, to the point I forgot I had them on, even when it started getting dark. Their colour changed drastically with light condition. Plus the frame was comfortable too.

After the grace period, they started falling apart:
  • The nose bridge detached and all efforts to reattach it failed
  • The moldable ear pieces started cracking and as a result slipping off the frame (some glue helped but their cracked surface feels bad on the skin)
  • One lens is sticking out of the frame

The two stars go for the lenses

I bought mine several years ago and have used them on several high altitude climbs in the snow. I haven't had any problems with mine other than I really don't like the fit. I noticed that when I bought them but I thought they would mold to my head. It didn't happen. This really becomes an issue when wearing them for several weeks straight. They do look stylish though compared to my last pair of snow glasses.
