Introduction
Those are my pics about a trip to the Spanish Parque Nacional de Ordesa y Monte Perdido and the French Béarn province that Nadie and me did in the mid July of 2009.
We went to climb
Monte Perdido starting at Nerín (Huesca) on July 13th. We took a tourist bus to Mirador de Bacarizuala, near the edge of Cañón de Ordesa in Sierra de las Cutas. Ascended Monte Perdido by the normal route of Lago Helado and descended to Refugio de Góriz (2200 m) for passing the night. We wanted to climb Taillón (3144 m) the next day but we decided not to try it after knowing that there was no lodging for us in the hut that night. So we descended all the trail to Nerín (1281 m) sleeping in the same hotel that we stayed the day we arrived to The Pyrenees.
On 15th I drove to the parking below
Lac de Bious-Artigues crossing the frontier and walked to the lake were we took many pics of Pic du Midi D'Ossau (2884 m) north flank. Then we visited the nice town of
Oloron-Sainte-Marie and returned to Spain, where we took lodging in Torla (Huesca).
The next day we took a bus to Pradera de Ordesa and enjoyed a nice excursion in the very beautiful Cañón de Ordesa. We reached
Cascada Cola de Caballo by the hard Senda de los Cazadores and Faja de Pelay. Then we descended in the incredible canyon to Pradera again, where another bus took us to Torla.
We visited the lonely
Valle de Bujaruelo on 17th. We wanted to reach at least Refugio de Labaza but a hail and rain storm made that we had to turn half round when we were in
Picamartillo (over 1635 m). It was the day when we carried less warm clothes but we could manage to get back to our car near Puente de Bujaruelo (1338 m). Hopefully we could take pics of Cerbillona (3247 m) and nearby peaks.
Finally we returned to Madrid on July 18th after visiting some
Pyrenean old villages in Huesca province.
