Approach
The crossover trail is located at the Phelps Cabin Trailhead and shares the same approach as the East Baldy Trail #95.
Route Description
The crossover trail connects the Phelps Cabin Trailhead (East Baldy Trail) to a point about a mile from the Sheep Crossing Trailhead (West Baldy Trail). It is 3.5 miles long and is mostly flat. Right before it connects with the West Baldy Trail, it drops about 300 feet in elevation.
If you are doing the loop, start at the Baldy West Trail, down the East Baldy Trail and then across on the Crossover Trail. This way you won't have to climb up on the last stretch of your hike.
