Overview

This route goes along the western ridge.

Getting There

Follow directions to Soldier Creek trailhead on main page

Route Description

Start from the Soldier Creek trailhead. Turned north to go off trail at the wilderness boundary/end of jeep road. Follow gully up and keep to the right to keep the climb at class II.  Go up through the middle if you want to explore the alcove and cave (requires class IV/V scrambling).   Stay on the top of the ridge requires class IV scrambling, or drop over to the north side of the ridge and hike through fairly steep brush to keep it at class II. At the base of the summit, turn north to find good class IV, possibly V, route to attain the summit.  There is also a class II route that is easy to see.  Summit is marked by cairn.

Essential Gear

Crampons and ice axe needed in winter.  No gear needed if there's no snow.

Parents

Parents refers to a larger category under which an object falls. For example, theAconcagua mountain page has the 'Aconcagua Group' and the 'Seven Summits' asparents and is a parent itself to many routes, photos, and Trip Reports.
