Access: The only access by road is via the Plan-Gistaín road. From Plan, 10km. Taking the main Ainsa –Bielsa road, a turning right at Salinas de Sín directs you towards Plan and San Juan de Plan. From Plan (1,110m) some 20km from Bielsa and 38km from L’Aínsa, keep on the road (don’t turn down into the village of San Juan de Plan) and just further on you will come to the track (un-made-up road) into the River Zinqueta valley. This track is not a problem for 4x4 vehicles. For a non-4-wheel drive car, care will be needed at some places, and may be more difficult in or after wet weather (mud). Allow a good 45 minutes to reach the hut! The main problem can be meeting a vehicle coming in the opposite direction, though in summer 2011 the road appears to have been widened and tidied up in places.

This road services various small-holdings, summer camps and a campsite. At the right hand curve in the road – Camping site Virgen Blanca, with to the left, access to the Valley de la Pez (signposts to Puerto de la Pez and also to the Tabernes un-manned hut, see below). A short distance further on at a junction a clear sign takes you to the right, up to the hut. At high season you may have to park on the curve of road before entering the valley, or if you are lucky you will find spaces further up. You will need to check conditions in winter and early spring.

A service by mini-bus from the village of Plan may be available. Contact the Plan Tourist Office. Oficina de Turismo de Plan: Ctra. De Entrada a Plan, s/n, 22367 Plan (Huesca). Tel: (0034) 974 506 400. Fax: 974 506 400

From the village of Plan on foot: Ascent: 580m. Distance: 10km. Timing: Around 3 hours.
The path should be marked all the way as the GR11 (red and white markings) and includes some track and some woodland paths. Running alongside the river Zinqueta, it crosses it twice at the Puente del Molino and later at the Puente del Hospital (1,450m).

There are two un-manned huts in the area:[img:458953:alignright:small:Tabernés.]
The Tabernés refuge (1,740m) in a clearing in woodland in the Zinqueta Valley, is reached by a path signposted at the curve in the road before the campsite. (At the Virgen Blanca buildings). It has 20 places and is un-manned. It has a table, seats and a chimney.

The Puyarruego/Puyarueso Refuge
. Unmanned hut that has an open section with space for up to 4 people. The other half of the hut is usually occupied by shepherds! Access via the Valley/Bal d’ Añes Cruzes. 1,920m altitude. Access is the same as for Viadós or from the Estós valley via the Col de Chistau. From Viadós the track continues past the refuge, crosses the d’Es Oriels waterfall where a track descends over pastures and between smallholdings to the River Zinqueta d’Añes Cruzes. Following the river, you will come to a turning on to a small path to the hut. Note: The hut is not visible from the track, so attention is needed to locate this small path.
