Upper Lincoln Headwall

From Montgomery reservoir, head up past the lincoln icefall into the lincoln amphitheater. Instead of heading left into the Cameron amphitheater, head right to the steep headwall that gains the ridge.

Getting There

Past the town of Breckenridge, take the Montgomery resevoir exit

Route Description

There are several snow routes to the top with occasional class 4 rock obstacles and patches of alpine ice. This route only works in firm conditions.

Essential Gear

Crampons, ice axe. Techincal axes not required unless blue ice has formed. A small alpine rope and light rack could be of use in some cases
