My border collie/black lab Cammie is 10.5 years old and has accompanied me on many of my travels. She has climbed every peak in the Columbia River Gorge, Mt. Hood four times, Black Peak, Mt. Washington (ONP), The Brothers (ONP), South Sister, Mt. St. Helens, Mt. Daniel, and finally Old Snowy/Ives and Gilbert Peaks in the Goat Rocks. Because of life circumstances, I haven't climbed much over the last three years and she hadn't summited a mountain in almost four. The two of us trained over the spring for a return to the mountains and after she sat out my Mt. Jefferson climb, waiting patiently by the door for three days, it was hard for me to leave her at home for this one. When we encountered a small family of goats near the summit of the Matterhorn, I had to call her back to me so she wouldn't try to herd them. Once we reached the summit, I could tell she was tired. A day after returning to home, she was back to normal, wanting to go climbing once again. Being so advanced in age, but brimming with enthusiasm, I need to be cautious of what climbs she does in the future. All that being said, I'm so glad she got to climb at least one more time!

Parents refers to a larger category under which an object falls. For example, theAconcagua mountain page has the 'Aconcagua Group' and the 'Seven Summits' asparents and is a parent itself to many routes, photos, and Trip Reports.
