Approach


To Mittlach : see Rothenbachkopf main page.
In the center of Mittlach, turn right and cross the bridge of the river Fecht, continue on the little road through the hamlet Erbersch. The road follows the Kolbenfecht river and ends at Kolbenwasen (chapel). Park.


Route Description


300 meters after the Kolben chapel, follow the path with the blue cross marks. You walk along the Wiedenbachrunz, a deep valley.

After 500 meters, the path climbs right in bends through the nice Steinwasen forest and higher reaches the pasture of the Steinwasen farm-inn.
Continue on the red disks marked path to the crest and climb the south ridge of Rothenbachkopf to the summit.

To descend : you can use the Leibelthal route or the Herrenberg route.
