Approach
Start at (or near) the west-most campsite at the west side of the Highland Lakes campground.
Route Description
From the western end of the west side of the Highland Lakes campground (elevation 8660'), head due west along a well-travelled use trail (or cross-country if you can't find it - its easy either way) for 0.3mi until you attain a ridge (elevation 8970'). Leave the trail and head more-or-less due north along the ridge, following numerous ducks and a sometimes-faint use trail until you reach the summit (after some moderately steep scree climbing) after 0.7mi. The views from Folger Peak aren't nearly as spectacular as from nearby
Hiram Peak, however, its much more easily reached, and is unlikely to spook acrophobics, which Hiram almost surely would.
Essential Gear
Bring/wear whatever the weather dictates - this is an easy peak!
