Approach
From Lake Irwin continue along the distince 4wd road heading north. This mountain doesn't have a long approach from the Lake Irwin side.
Route Description
From Lake Irwin follow the 4wd road up past timberline till it veers west. Continiue on this old mining road as it climbs to the Ruby Peak-Mount Owen Saddle. Go north up a scree slope to get on the south ridge proper. From here there is a definate trail all the way to the summit. The ridge narrows and undulates but the trail never runs out. Despite the questionable nature of the rock this is an excellent route. There is one false summit on the south east side on the way. Once on the summit enjoy the unique view!
