Traffic on Trinity Face!
Good morning and a very happy New Year SummitPost-eers
In England and Wales, alas we are still awaiting some wintery, icy goodness to dust off the poons and axes. However during last years extended winter conditions in the UK, my partner in crime and I managed an opportunistic smash and grab solo on the easy but classic “Central Trinity” on Snowdon’s Trinity Face in North Wales on a perfect day of weather. Clogwyn y Garnedd or Trinity Face as it is better known, is probably the most reliable winter climbing venue south of Scotland. Unsurprisingly, being a glorious day, the face was very busy with a lot of traffic so there are quite a lot of unknown solo and roped climbers featured on routes such as the 3 Trinity Gullies and Little Gully. "Central Trinity" was especially in very good nick and the route provided most excellent sport, despite yours truly getting hit by a chunk of ice at 01.46! Anyway the entertainment was duly recorded so for anyone interested in viewing a short HD film then please use the following embedded link:
If you wish to sample the full High Def experience and your computer has enough va va voom, you should be able to change the "Quality" icon to at least 720p HD in the bottom right hand corner on the You Tube screen. All constructive feedback, critique or comments welcome and hopefully it will inspire a few folks to visit this superb area and climb the route when it next freezes up! :-)
Cheers and happy climbing
Dave
