Approach
Use the Moosilauke Ravine Lodge Approach described in the Getting There Section.
Route Description
Ascending Mount Moosilauke's SW Slope, this 3.8 mile class 1 route connects the Geroge Brook Trail, Snapper Trail, and the Moosilauke Carriage Road, the final portion of which is a link along the Appalachian Trail leading to the summit. Starting from the Ravine Road trailhead (2460'), follow the George Brook Trail for 0.6 miles until you reach the Snapper Trail Junction (2620') at which time you should take the 1.1 mile Snapper Trail heading northwest but to climber's left of the George Brook Trail. In about 0.5 miles the trail will turn southwest reaching the Moosilauke Carriage Road (3360') in another 0.6 miles. From here, follow the Carriage Road north reaching the Glenncliff Trail junction (4460') in another 1.2 miles. From here you can take a short 0.2 mile excursion along a spur trail up to South Peak (4523'). Continuing from the Glennclif Trail junction head along the saddle connecting South Peak to Moosilauke's southwest slope, reaching the summit in 0.9 miles.

Essential Gear
None during the snow-free season, however gear such as ice axe, crampons, snowshoes, and skis may be used, or even mandatory, during winter conditions. A windbraker is always a good idea above treeline.
