Approach

On this route, you can start from Rauris (Salzburger Land).
The startpoint of the route is then normally the Naturfreunde Haus Kolm-Saigurn (1598 m.). From there you walk to the Sonnblick glacier under North face.
You can also start from Niedersachsenhaus 2471 m, where is winterraum for sleep. From there you ski down to Naturfreunde Neubau and do a traverse with ski under NE Face of Sonnblick.

Route Description

from Naturfreunde Haus Kolm-Saigurn is very long distance under North face (2-3 h.) and in face ascent is cca 3 h.
Easier approach with ski is from Niedersachsenhaus 2471 m, where you can sleep and in early morning you do ski down to Neubau - cca 10-15 min. From Neubau you do long traverse with ski under North Face cca to 1h.
