South And East Ridges Climbs

Mount StuartIngalls Peaks from Stuart.

Shirley, our friend Andrew & I climbed the South Ridge route in the early fall of 2002. I remember crowds and cloudy weather...a waiting line for the raps. Other than that, it was a fun outing (the following day, we climbed The Tooth).

Shirley & I came back to the area in 2005 with the intention of climbing the North Ridge of Stuart but we could not quite wake up in the morning & did the East Ridge of Ingalls as a consolation prize (a tiny one but with stellar views!). I recall a couple asking to rap our lines on the way down South Ridge & then quickly taking off at base w/o even a hint of an offer to help us pull/coil the lines...classy! I think the next day we went & climbed Outer Space in Leavenworth.

By the way, both routes climb to the summit of the North Peak of Ingalls "Complex" (photo on left).

Re: So at some point....

Yeah, you too. I just did Glacier Peak and completed my list of Cascade Volcanoes. Heading to New Hampshire in a couple weeks for some leaf-peeping. It's not a weekend in the Dolomites but I take what I can get. :- )
