Day 1

Drove in through the Cave Mountain Recreation Area. Found N.Fork Sun River trailhead(trail 108) just west of the Cave Mountain campsite. Began hike at around 7 a.m. At about noon, we completed the 6 mile hike to the pass. We began out decent down into the Bob Marshall Wilderness Complex on the opposite side of the saddle. We hiked about another 4 miles until we came upon a fork in the trail. One fork was trail 109, which ran south alongside the Sun River, and the other continued down towards the Sun River Trail. Accidentally took trail 108 for about 2 miles, until realizing our mistake. Retraced trail back to the fork, and camped at the fork for the night.

Day 2

Awoke and left camp at about 10 a.m. Traveled west along N. Fork Sun River Trail for about 2 miles until we reached the trail merge with trail 110. We walked along trail 110 until we found a way down into the Sun River Valley, then began flyfishing for a few hours. Many bites, no fish. Continued back along our original route past the 108/109 trail junction until we reached the Nesbit Creek Crossing, where we set up camp for the night.

Day 3

Set out from our campsite at Nesbit Creek. Followed trail 108 over Route Creek Pass and followed the trail back down to Cave Mountain Recreation Area, where the trip concluded.
