Route Description

Level difference : 1230 m
Duration of ascent : 4 hours
Walk up the trail to the farm of Latieurne (1563 m) and to Luibronne.
From here, take left (signs) and climb steep to the Pas de la Bide (chains). A narrow passage through the rocks avoids an exposed climb. You reach the wild comb of Filipendin fist grassy and then stony (snowfields in june-july). You reach the swiss refuge de Bostan and the Col de Bostan (2290 m).
Climb left and conturn the escarpment of the Corne du Chamois by the left. Don't follow the path on the right witch leads to the Golette de l'Oule and to the Vogealle Hut. Climb steep the rocky comb (snow ields sometimes icy, normally snow free in august and september). Reach a gully; climb through a crack on the right to the Occidental summit (in fact 3 summits). Descend along the blade sharp and vertiginous crest (prudence) and climb easier through gravels to the principal summit (Dent du Signal).

Essential Gear

Crampons sometimes useful.
