I bought this pack for use as a summit pack during alpine expeditions. It is perfect for this use! It is compact enought to easily fold up into your expedition pack for the approach and large and comfortable enough to carry your climbing kit during summit attempts.
  • Modified clamshell design offers speedy access to all of your equipment so it's not strewn about the base of the cliff
  • The molded-foam back panel breathes and the polyurethane framesheet protects your back from cams or draws
  • Adjustable contoured SternumTrac shoulder straps add stability and comfort
  • Hydration-compatible design features reservoir pocket and drink tube exit port for on-the-go hydration (reservoir sold separately)
  • Side and top straps securely fasten a rope to its exterior
  • Includes haul loop, rope straps and waterproof zippers for protection

This pack is perfect for use as a summit pack during alpine expeditions. At $100 it was a little pricey, but I don't mind paying that much for the perfect piece of gear. The only drawbacks I have encountered is that the foam back pad doesn't breathe as much as my other packs so my back gets a little sweaty. Also, the hole for the hydration tube was a little small and I had to cut it bigger in order to get my Platypus tube to go through it. Otherwise a great pack for alpine ascents!
