Quark Ergo

 

Intended for experienced ice climbers, the Ergo is one of the new generation of leash-free ice tools. It offers maximum freedom of movement and opens up whole new approaches to problems. The distinctively angled handle is tilted horizontally, offering a pull-up like effect for maximum power and minimum fatigue. A pommel above the hand position allows for matching while shaking out, or switching tools without the need for crossover strikes.

This is a high clearance tool for steep ice and mixed climbs. The reverse-curved Quark pick features a comparatively positive tip for aggressive penetration and secure hooking. It has bevelled teeth most of its length, and hooking teeth where the pick meets the shaft.

Aluminum, with steel components and rubber grip.
Ergonomic handle design with a grippy texture.
Quark pick is B-rated: not as strong as thicker, T-rated picks, but thinner for easier penetration and less ice displacement.
Not designed for use with a leash, although you can add one if you like!
