Headlamp with single light source: Xenon halogen bulb
The Myo Noir is our simplest headlamp, featuring a super bright Xenon halogen bulb. Its compact design has a tilt features as well as focusable beam. An ideal light for times when you need a bright light with your hands free.
Petzl could replace Zoom with Myo because they are very alike when working. The Xenon halogen bulb gives a clear light wich ranges 100 m and 30 m / 98.4 ft after 4 hours of use. The spare standard bulb ranges 30 m and 10 m after 11 hours working.
Pros: it's not very heavy or bulky and lights a lot (very useful for searching the trail in dark nights).
Contras: the rolled portion of the cable is unprotected and could enlarge in the long run; be careful with because the batteries run out quickly when the Xenon halogen bulb is fit up, it goes out immediately
While on a trip through the German Alps two year's ago I had forgotten to bring a head lamp ,so I ended up buying this as a temp for that trip. I did a lot of night hiking and climbing with it. I think it is a good basic lamp. However there is a few thing's to note. First as stated above the light will go out with out any warning. This happened to me while I was in the middle of bouldering acccrost a river at the base of a water fall durring a moonless overcast night. I can tell you that I had to stop right were I was at till I could change the battries out. Second the weight of it including the battrie's made it bounce around a little while I was mooving fast so be shure to have it secured well. Other than the weight ,and instant shut off this is a nice lamp.
