Untitled ReviewI have also used this product while hiking on Mt Charleston in Southern Nevada. Using it at the base of the mountain (Kyle Canyon) or up in/on the draws/ridges it was always able to get a solid fix. Only one time it reported my altitude incorrectly (off by ~700ft).
Also used it on the Boot Spur route up Mt Washington (New Hampshire) and it worked perfectly in the woods and valleys, this was during a period of fairly consistent cloud cover.
I really only use it to confirm my location and plot the coordinates on my topo maps, so I can't speak to the functionality of way points, routes, etc. I would recommend this product as a reliable and accurate device.
