Great jacket from one of the best manufactureres around. Made out of Power Shield this jacket blocks 98 percent of the wind. The other two move moisture out of the shell allowing for higher levels of activity than most hard shells.

I ice climb so I needed a jacket that allow me to reach w/o restriction and this jacket was the best of the four Power Shield jackets I tried on. I liked its fit around the shoulders a waist the best. Its a trim and athletic cut. Pretty warm on its own and fits under a hard shell for additional warmth and protection well.

Almost water proof to start with but the DWR will wear off as time and washings remove it. W/o the DWR it is still very water resistant. I took it out recently in a November mist for a three hour hike and came back dry. Heavier rains will over come the jacket water resitance though. The Power Shield laminate is very durable and wont pill. Any jacket with Power Shield will be just as durable. Buy this jacket if you can afford it you wont regret it.

Only things I wish it had was a laminate shoulder pocket and a sealable collar like the REI One Power Shield Jacket.
