Pros:
  • Durable
  • Basically as light as a normal camelbak bladder.
  • Has a convenient o-ring for hanging--VERY nice.
  • Much more capacity than camelbak 100-ounce.

Cons:
  • Really bulky attachment of hose to bladder.
  • Bite valve a drag to use relative to camelbak.

Pros: Very durable, easy to fill, grommet for a hang loop, varying pour size openings, sturdy opening

Cons: opening is bulky, small stream is much too small for most things

The 4litre bladder is a great product.

It's too large to fit in most hydration pouch sleeves but it fits fine in the top of the expansion sleeve of most packs. with the hose attachment I can carry up to 4 l (3 is better, 2 is too little for me) of water in any of my packs. The bite valve is pretty good, but has been known to pop off is left hagning or unattended. I swapped it out for the much more secure anaconda valve sold for the platypus bags. ALWAYS carry a lid to plug/replace the lid you screw your hose into. I leave a nalgene wide mouth lid hanging aroung the bladder and leave the stock lid permanently attached to the hose, this is most convinient when refilling or when the tube freezes up. AND it's way more confortable when used as a pillow in your sleeping bag not to mention more secure when the thought of wetting yourself brings back bad childhood memories :)

I think the dromedary bags are great, but have had troubles with the drinking tube. It's hard to screw onto the bag at times and the bite valve falls off sometimes. Then I get water leaking all over and that's no good!

I stopped using my dromedary after a few times and switched back to my Platypus hoser.
