C 14
Product Description
C14 is the crampon specifically designed for ice climbing
and is the lightest crampon on its category. The vertical
points have been cut by laser machine and reinforced with
the addition of a small plate on the upper part that will
be of help during climbing as well (more support).
The vertical points will be on the long position (less
inclinated) but could be easily changed both in length
and versions (monopoint, two points, straight and
asymettric) thank to the different colours of tubes. The
front part is really compact and grants high stability
and great fitting with all type of boots. Three holes
help for creating asymmetric version for the attachment
system too. The rear part is also compact but the
inclination of the points enable a perfect stability.
C14 is available in fast and mixed versions (universal
option is also possible). Optional heel spur is also
available for high difficult pitches. The very new
snowplate is fixed on the crampon like all the other
crampons of Cassin line. Quick adjustment for fitting
boots sizing.

I like it
I use this kind of crampons. In wet snow the antisnow plate doesn't work well. Sometimes the crampons collect the snow. One time the strap was slacken.
On water-ice it is king. It holds very well and doesn't scorch the ice too much.

Similar to M10's
Picked up a pair of these on closeout recently. They seem to penetrate pretty well. The frontpoints can be adjusted in many ways, ala Petzl-Charlet M10's. The other points are low-profile, making them a little easier to walk in I guess. They come with anti-balling plates, unlike the M10's, which seem to work decently.
The drawback is that they are no longer distributed in North America, so for spare parts you would probably need to order overseas.
