Overall, I'm not sure what I think of these yet. They are very comfortable for walking and provide good support for ice climbing. My crampons (both G12s and M10s) are very solid on these boots. Small, soft-shell gaitors that came with the boots work well and are light. The price was also very good.

Down sides: My feet got a little cold at a belay in 10 degree weather. My biggest complaint with the boot is the weight. For a modern boot, they are quite heavy, coming in at about 5lbs (weigh almost the same as my double plastic boots).

They are heavy, but warm in my experiences. Need some breaking in before you charge something with a long approach. Great for Ice climbing, little too heavy for mixed, but will do. Cheap option vs. La Sportivas, but the latter are better.

The boots are a compromise, just like you would expect. They are competitively priced, have good insulation and do everything, "kind of well". I've now climbed Rainier in these boots as well as gone ice climbing a few times. I've never gotten a blister, been cold in them or had shin hitting problems. They are stiff, I lace them looser in the top when I'm going to be slogging a trail than when I ice climb in them.

In general, I can only really say this about them as compared with my wife's Sportiva K4s boots. I paid $100 for mine and +$200 for hers. During break in, I never got a blister, she got a few. Now I still say mine are too stiff, she says hers are perfect. Mine are heavier but I also seem to have warmer feet when we are out belaying when ice climbing.

got these on the Madrock Outlet for 160. Not a bad deal. They definitely need some breaking in. They are very waterproof and quite warm too. The shoe laces are tooo short. Other then that, great buy
