Approach
Drive to the parking lot at Lambert Dome. Hike the trail to the regular route past the technical routes on the west face of the southern dome. After you pass the tallest central dome, look for some broken slabs at about 60 to 70 degree slope on the flat section connecting the northern and central dome.
Route Description
Scramble directly up the slabs on mostly 4th class terrain. If you stay on the crack, there is a difficult (for unroped) move right under the tree. It goes about 5.7 to 5.8. I avoided this by traversing to the right and performed one move at about 5.2, then cut back over to the crack above the tree. Now finish this section on 4th class moves to the flat area.
To reach to tallest point, I recommend jamming the crack on the north side of the highest dome with 1 move at about 5.4. The east slope is boring, but makes for a good decent route. The 20 foot high crack is fun and the 5th class move is only about 5' above a flat slab, so exposure is not a problem.
Descend the east slope to the lower dome then down the north side back to the trail. I downclimbed the slabs without a rope, and thought it was quite difficult. Not recommended, unless you are brave and have practiced doing this.
