Approach

From the central square of Potosi (Plaza 10 de Noviembre) altitude 4070m, go west for 2 blocks till Millares street. Proceed southwards on Milares till the end and go up a flight of stairs and dirt slope. You will reach the edge of Potosi city proper. There will be a big dirt/jeep track. Cross it (Parts of it may have been paved by now).

Route Description

There are numerous trails up the immediate slope. Just pick any and aim for the prominent hill with a church-like building atop it. When you are within about 100m in altitude to the church-like buiding, skirt around to the right of the hill and look for a jeep/truck track. Follow the track. The track will bring you above a small mining village and upwards passing abandoned mining caves to within perhaps 100m below the summit hut. The obvious track stops here, but you can easily pick out some scrambling trails that will bring you to the summit. Beware, the cairn-like stone piles on the way may be misleading.

Essential Gear
