Approach


Trailhead: Mountain hut of Lizara (1540m).

Route Description


Slope: 1128 meters.
Time: 3h 30 min to climb (with ice and snow: +1h or more)
Route: South face.

After the construction of road of Aragües del Puerto to Lizara it's a easy climb in summer for all the people.

From the mountain hut of Lizara (1540m) we follow the track to north (red and white marks of GR-11). After the fountain of water we continue for the pastures to the Col of Foratón (2032m). We leave the marks of GR-11 in this point and we go to the right (NE) inicially for the grass and after for the stones (with a hard slope). We must to avoid the falls of the right side (walking poles are advisables).
The final ridge are a pile of big stones (no path in this zone) where we follow in direction to the Cross of the summit.

In winter time the upper section with snow is dangerous if you fall in the center of the mountain (with spectacullar fall).

Boots and walking poles.
With ice and snow is dangerous: crampons, ice axe and even rope because the hard slope.
