There appears to be a recent problem with low numbered photos. See this thread. Hopefully the elves will resolve it. If not I'll just resubmit mine, with improved scans.
Outstanding page! Also the description of the Hongu Valley Trek is awesome. The thumbnail preview is a very good idea and probably requires some good html-knowledge.
Thanks very much. I'm glad you like the page! The thumbnail thing was fun to work on. I saw it on another web page and thought it would be neat to try. It's done in JavaScript and I cannot take the creditt, it comes from here: http://www.dynamicdrive.com. The big problem I had was posting it on SP. Part of the script was being truncated due to a long line length, resulting in a JavaScript error. It took me a while to debug, but I'm happy it worked out. Take care, Nelson
Thanks a lot for the vote and comments, much appreciated! The satellite photo effort took some work, but I'm happy with the results. Maybe I'll do another one.
Tabache is off to the left of the satellite image. The glacier directly above the "Imja Valley" label is the Nuptse Glacier. To the left (west) of that, off the picture is the Khumbu Glacier, the way to Everest. On the opposite side of the Khumbu Glacier is Taboche. It would be mostly west and maybe a bit north of the "Imja Valley" label.
This photo was taken from the lower slopes of Ama Dablam, maybe just below the 'a" in "Valley". It is looking across the Khumbu Glacier to Taboche and Cholatse.
One of the best SP pages i have viewed. My brother just got back home from Nepal. He loved it and will continue to go back. I will give you his impression some time when we get together.
Thanks Kane, although I think this page doesn't hold a candle to some Rockies pages that I know! :o) I recently added the "kane-ification" banner photo. Yes, would love to hear about your brother's trip over a brew some day, and look forward to getting out with you again.

Untitled CommentVery nice page, thank you! Also very up-to-date information. The clickable satellite map for the Hongu Valley Trek is also very cool.

Untitled CommentI just love the interactive satellite photo!
I'm always wondering which mountain lies exactly where.. Where would Taboche be on that photo by the way?
The rest of the page is very nice too, it's a joy reading. Super page!

Untitled CommentGreat page. I really like the idea of a Hero Photo section on the pages for bigger peaks.
