Collecting my pics

One of Utah's prominence peaks with over 2000' of prominence, Indian Peaks comes in at number 72 on this list. More specific info can be found here. Also see this new SP page that is dedicated to the Utah prominence peaks that have 2000 feet of prominence. See that HERE.

Indian Peaks in Utah is really a special place in the western Utah desert, just south of the Pony Express road. I have been out there several times and climbed it once from the north although others have climbed it from the east, south and southeast. It is also a favorite peak of an outdoor experience group for boys and found on the south peak were two register bottles were filled with scraps of paper indicating how popular this peak is with that particular group.

I ventured in from the north using a 4WD road that took off from the Pony Express road but others have climbed this mountain from different directions. Eric Willhite put together a nice trip report on his visit that he made recently from the east side (probably the best route to go up) and you can find that report HERE.

Eventually I hope to put together a mountain page for this peak but for the moment, I can offer up these pictures and suggest that you take a look at the map Eric has put together for the eastern route.

Geat looking mountain

Very nice album Dean. Your desert trips have convinced me to head west this winter. I will be geeting to know a few of these peaks you've been on.
