Hochtor from HochzinödlHochtor
From the Hesshuette, the marked normal ascent goes towards the West. Through dwarf pines and over a scree you reach the first rocks and the path goes over them. A high, grassy and rocky slope is steep and the path finds best passages over it. On rocky parts the route is secured by steel ropes and pegs. So after an hour the path reaches the top of Hochtor's SE ridge and crosses it. Now the ascent goes just below the SE ridge of Hochtor. The route uses long ledges and is well secured. Soon you see the main summit but still you have some distance till there. First you reach the notch below it and afterwards the summit. From the hut 1 h 30 min to 2 h.

Essential Gear
