Grandlspitz

Overview

The Grandlspitz is a distinctive mountain between Hochscharte and Taghaube with a upstream tower at the Southwest side. Behind Grandlspitz there is Hochkönig and Hochseiler.
From the summit you have a wonderful view to the near Hochkönig (you can see the summit cross) and Hochseiler in the North, to Tennengebirge, Sonnblick group and Glockner group with Großglockner, Wiesbachhorn. You can also see Großvenediger.

Next to Grandlspitz there is the Erich hut. From the hut you can reach the summit in 1 h 45 min.

There are several possibilities to reach the summit. There are some interesting climbing routes in good and solid rock.

Getting There

From Tauernautobahn via Bischofshofen to Mühlbach, from Mühlbach towards Dienten. Before you reach Dienten there is the Dientener Sattel on the right side with some parking possibilities.

From Zell am See to Dienten (30 min.). From Dienten in 10 minutes to Dientener Sattel (direction to Mühlbach, the Sattel is on the left side).

From the parking place you hike on a good trail to Erich hut (signs) in 40 minutes.

From Erich hut follow the sign to Hochkönig (not Taghaube!). You hike on a wonderful trail with great wild mountain flowers and some rocks to Grandlspitz.

In Dienten and Mühlbach is no camping place.
