Glacier travel gear

Glacier travel gear

As part of the 2014 BOEALPS Basic Climbing Class we lower students into a crevasse on Mount Rainier's Nisqually Glacier. They use prussik knots to shimmy up the rope while their teammates setup a z-pulley on the surface to haul them out. There is a lot of gear on a climber for glacier travel, so that's why there is a lot of training needed.
