Route Description
NOTE:
The starting point for this route is the summit of Rostam Nisht Peak. Click for a link to
Rostam Nisht Route page
Distances:
2.25 km Rostam Nisht to Kaljaran Pass
3.0 km Kaljaran Pass to Kalahoo
Route:
From the summit of Rostam Nisht Peak, hike north on the crest of a ridgeline down to a 4190 m saddle south of the Takhte Rostam Peak (4246 m). We bypassed Takhte Rostam to the west of it. This forced us to hike across steep slippery scree covered slopes that dropped 2000 m to the bottom of the Sehezar Valley. Once beyond Takhte Rostam, it is easy hiking down to Kaljaran Pass (4104 m)
At kaljaran Pass, hike north along the crest of the ridgeline past Nefar Neghar and Mishvar Peaks to Kalahoo. On our way up, we tried to bypass Mishvar to the west of it so we ended up hiking across slippery steep scree covered slopes. The hike will be easier if you follow the crest of the ridgeline over Mishvar.
Essential Gear
In summer, nothing more than camping gear and good hiking boots.
