Ski tour to Dufourspitze 4634m:

Dufourspitze 4634m: The highest point of Switzerland and thus the highest mountain of Switzerland. The superlative of the Swiss alps. The Dufourspitze is besides the strictest 4000er of Switzerland. That implies of the Basecamp (=Monte Rosa hut) up to the summit, 1850 elevator meters are to be made and nearly always over 3000m.

The Dufourspitze is also the highest point of the Monte Rosa massif. The Monte Rosa massif consists of the 4000ers Dufourspitze 4634m, Nordend 4609m, Zumsteinspitze 4563m and Signalkuppe 4554m.

Our ascent with ski:
We are started in the Monte Rosa hut 2795m and over the Monte Rosa glacier to the “Silbersattel 4515m". There we climbed by a steep and icy Couloir to the ridge.
Subsequently, over this exposed ridge to the main summit of the Dufourspitze 4634m. Descent on same route back to the Monte Rosa hut and after to Zermatt.

Résumé: A bombastic ski tour. A very good condition and a safe ski technology are absolutely necessary. Besides it needs for the large glacier and the summit climbing founded alpine knowledge. With questions or unclarity, I help you gladly.

Difficulty: SS- ¦ II ¦ 40-45°
