Approach
The route begin from Dasiko Chorio area. Dasiko Chorio is 8Km after Leivaditis village. To reach Leivaditis village driving the national road from Xanthi to Drama, and after 32Km turn right to the villages Ano Karyofyto & Leivaditis. First croos Ano Karyofyto village and after 10 Km we reach Leivaditis.

Route Description
The first 6 Km of the route is walk on the bad condition jeep-road that is guiding close to Gyftokastro area. The path begins after 6Km trekking, where there is the sign of the path. All the area is covered by trees and forests. The path is beginning from 1450m altitude and ascent fast until 1600m. After, getting on the smooth ridge of the Koula mountain. The path is 5.5Km and is finishing in front of Gyftokastro peak, about 300m far from the Greek - Bulgarian border. Since we arrive into the end of the path we are going left of the peak just on the border. We follow the border line on right hand and after 20 minutes we reach the highest point of Koula mountain and all Thrace region, Gyftokastro 1828m.

To do this route you need only trekking books and more than 1 litter of water. The route is very easy walk up about 20Km totally.
