Before you turn the corner there is a short but barely protected slab move, you would have liked this climb Martin.

Curious name

Do you know the origin of the name "Chianti".

Thank you. I don't know the origin but it is a kind of vine. This spire is part of a range called Vine Spires, from north to south the spires are named Burgundy, Chianti, Pernod, Chablis etc. each one a different kind of vine.

It's a good idea to make sure your belayer carries the camera. I should have learned that a long time ago when I could do stuff like this.
