Overview

Center Crack is a fun practice route on the Sunday Slabs, to the climber's right of the main descent trail.

Getting There

From the Hang Glider Slab, descend via the usual way as you would proceed to the base of the other climbs, but fork left on the way down instead of right. This will take you to a slabby area below the Hang Glider Slab. Some class 2-3 scrambling may be required.

Route Description

Follow the obvious thin crack up until it peters out on a slab.

There is a lone bolt on the slab where you traverse right to a two-bolt anchor with rings.

Descend by rappel.

For extra credit, lead this one with only nuts and slings, and remember to place nuts in opposition as your first piece :)

Essential Gear

Set of nuts, slings, and a quickdraw for the one bolt on the route. Small cams optional.

Parents

Parents refers to a larger category under which an object falls. For example, theAconcagua mountain page has the 'Aconcagua Group' and the 'Seven Summits' asparents and is a parent itself to many routes, photos, and Trip Reports.
