So Much Better In Real Life...

Arriving in Arches National Park was like stepping out into a dream. The terrain and climate were so unlike anything I had experienced in my life that every curve I found myself catching my breath. At no other place on this trip west did I feel more inadequate at taking pictures...trying feebly to convey just a sliver of what the experience was like.

The day was a scorcher at around 105 (but it was a dry heat!) so we mainly toured the park from our car. We also needed to make it down to the Four Corners by sunset. Needless to say this a woefully short period of time to truly experience all that is Arches, but we tried. I've tried to identify formations as my guidebook allows but have likely got some wrong. I hope I can just share a bit of the wonder I experinced during my first visit to the western desert...

Re: Love Those Arches

Thanks, I'd have to agree. I really hope I get the chance to go back someday. One day just wasn't enough!

Parents

Parents

Parents refers to a larger category under which an object falls. For example, theAconcagua mountain page has the 'Aconcagua Group' and the 'Seven Summits' asparents and is a parent itself to many routes, photos, and Trip Reports.
