What a beautyWhen I was on Mont Blanc it was perfect clear weather, no where a single cloud. I thought it couldn't be better but now I see it can. I wish it was like this! Maybe next time. Who knows how far is the line between clouds and sky, certainly more than 150km, maybe all the way to coast and Genova.

Higher resolutionHarry, could you please post higher resolution of this shot and maybe even the previous one with Monte Rosa, at least 1024x768 and give us a link. If you don't want because of copyright no problem. Anyway thanks.

Re: Higher resolutionHi Velebit,
thanks for the kind words; I have placed a watermarked version here on the 7summits.com site. It's 660kb and can be used as wallpaper. It's a basic scan of a Provia slide, so not extremely sharp, but still looks nice :)
Please do use this picture without permission and do not remove the copyright notice form the pic.
(I have had many pics abused and stolen while I normally give permission to use them non-commercially)

Re: Higher resolutionYour pic is safe with me. I'm familiar with such problems as I had them in the past, that is why I mentioned it. Thanks very much for the pic, its amazing!

DauphineDid you take any such pictures to the west or southwest?

Re: DauphineHi Desainme,
the clouds all came from the south/east, although Chamonix was cloudy as well, it did not have that 'blanket' feel and the colours were not right, so I skipped that...
I did take another picture from the same spot with a 15mm wide angle lense, can be viewed here on summitpost, you can see from east to about SW due to the extreme wide angle. (I cut the bottom half as it just contained trodden snow on top of Mt Blanc).
