Zillertal Alps - Hochfeiler 2008
Find some photos from my trip to Zillertal Alps. In summer 2008 I visited the Hochfeiler Group in Austrian Alps :)
Hochfeiler Hutte 2710 m a.s.l.
The normal route to Hochfeiler
(italian Gran Pilastro) is the S route from the Italian side. You can leave your car in the village in Pfitscher Tal and than after 4 hours you reach the Hochfeiler Hutte (2710m)which is the good point the start your climbing to the summit.
On the way .... you turn back and there are the Dolomites :)
The normal route to Hochfeiler is the easy one but it gives a lot of fun thanks to the gorgeous views. You can see the Dolomites, Ă–tztal Alps, Stubai Alps or even Piz Bernina.
The way to the summit
After reaching the pass follow the snow rigde to the summit.
Hochfeiler/Gran Pilastro
When you are there it's really great to have a good weather conditions. Hochfeiler is situated in the middle of Eastern Alps so you have a view from Hohe Tauren to Piz Bernina.
The north face
While the normal S route is easy the N slopes are very steep and there are a real challange for the climbers
