I climb most 14ers in the afternoon (except front range). There are few crowds and it's just beautiful as the evening sun sets. I did Wetterhorn and Uncompahgre on early fall evenings.
this year is so dry, so I am actually starting my hikes late too . I think it will change when the monsoons will hit.
